So you want to get into International Human Resources! But how to get started? What skills, knowledge and abilities will you need?

SHRM has a course. Go to http://www.shrm.org/learning/global/ and develop a list of required courses and skills.

Now compare that list to the profiles of existing International HR practitioners. Develop a list of skills, knowledge and abilities based on the bio’s of the following practitioners:

Coretha Rushing, Sr. VP, HR Coca-Cola

Jo Ann Rabitz, Sr. VP, HR – General Electric

Lisa Brummel, Sr. VP, HR – Microsoft

How does Canada compare to other countries?
Go to link
You can do an on-line comparison of Canada and up to 9 other countries based on up to 5 statistical indicators.
When you select the indicators, choose at least 3 that would have an impact on HR decisions. Print a copy of the chart and bring it to class.
